The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation offers numerous creative ways for you to give now or in the future. The methods of giving described below offer tax advantages and income – providing options that will allow you to meet your personal giving and financial objectives while supporting leading-edge cancer research, patient care and education programs at Princess Margaret Hospital.
Gifts can be directed to a specific area or project or to the Hospital’s top priorities. They may result in significant tax savings. All contributions to The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation are recognized in a special way.
Cash
Many donors choose to support Princess Margaret Hospital by making cash gifts. We can immediately utilize your donation or we can establish an endowment fund and provide ongoing funding. Cash gifts are eligible for a charitable tax credit reducing the income tax you pay.
Property
The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation accepts gifts-in-kind such as real estate and tangible personal property such as art and jewellery. Upon making such a donation, you may be eligible to receive a tax receipt for the market value of the property. The fair market value of the property is determined by one or more qualified appraisers. The tax credit may offset the tax on any realized capital gain on the property, resulting in overall net tax savings.
