The 3rd Annual Rally Against Cancer Hardcore (R.A.C.H.) 3-Pitch Tournament was on June 23 – 25, in Parry Sound, Ontario. The event held in memory of Rachel Anne Cecilia Higgins, who passed away from cancer last year, raised over $60,000 for The R.A.C.H. Fund for brain tumour research at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH).
This event drew enormous community support with a record 32 teams competing this year and paying tribute to Rachel. From Friday evening’s opening ceremonies to Sunday’s championship game, the sun was shining on all who attended as they enjoyed great game play, delicious food and live entertainment all for a worthy cause.
In total, The R.A.C.H. Fund has raised over $150,000 to support Dr. Jonathan Irish, Chief of Surgical Services, and his research on image guided surgery. The Fund is also supporting the first Guided Therapeutics (GTx) research fellow at PMH.
