On May 4th, 2010, the 7th Annual Mindy Kirsh Memorial Bridge to the Cure Tournament benefiting Ovarian Cancer took place at Spirale Banquet Hall. Over 350 people came out to play bridge and mah jong to help raise critical funding for Ovarian Cancer at The Princess Margaret. Dr. Joan Murphy, oncologist at The Princess Margaret, announced that the Mindy Kirsh Memorial Scholarship Fund was created with proceeds from the event. This really made everyone at the event feel like they were making a difference in the future of ovarian cancer research and treatment! Many of the ladies baked “double batches” of their lemon squares, brownies, cupcakes, biscotti and more – this tradition of bringing home made desserts started right at the beginning! Once again there was a wonderful silent auction with close to 100 items available all donated from the community. At the beautiful luncheon, the three co-chairs announced that they had not only reached their fundraising goal of $85,000 – but passed it by raising $100,000! Thanks to everyone involved in this incredible event and for your support to Conquer Cancer in our Lifetime at The Princess Margaret.
