The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation is delighted to announce that on May 12, 2010, The Princess Margaret received an Employer Recognition Award for Innovation from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA). Award recipients are selected based on their recognition of nursing certification as a professional credential, as well as financial and other supports offered to nursing staff to achieve certification. In announcing the award, the CNA congratulated PMH for innovation in two key areas: - collaboration with the de Souza Institute in the development and implementation of sustainable financial support and study groups for nurses preparing for their CNA certification in oncology nursing, and
- incorporating CNA certification into the professional development pathway for all newly hired registered nurses, enabling nurses to write the CNA certification exam within two years of hire
