Shortly after 11:30 a.m. today, there was an accident in Lincoln, Ontario involving two Ride to Conquer Cancer cyclists. This accident resulted in a rider with serious injuries.

All associated with The Ride to Conquer Cancer are deeply saddened by this news and our thoughts go out to the patient, family and friends.

No further details about the rider will be released.

Staff involved with The Ride to Conquer Cancer are working closely with local authorities and will assist in every way possible.

Safety is paramount at The Ride to Conquer Cancer and helmets are required. Event organizers plan year-round to ensure the cyclists ride on safe, less traveled roads. The Ride to Conquer Cancer works closely with police departments in all communities the ride travels through and they go to extra lengths to help direct traffic and do everything possible to keep participants safe.

This year, there were more than 4,000 riders participating in the two-day event. Everyone who rides is part of The Ride to Conquer Cancer family.
