Impact on Research
Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) and its research arm, the Ontario Cancer Institute, have assembled a team of world-class doctors, scientists and support staff whose sole vision is to conquer cancer for those struggling right now and for those yet to be diagnosed. Leading researchers and clinical doctors like Dr. Ben Neel, Dr. Mary Gospodarowicz, and Dr. Jonathan Irish will put your fundraising dollars to immediate use towards cancer research and care at PMH.
Funds raised from The Ride to Conquer Cancer will benefit groundbreaking areas of cancer research at PMH, such as tumour metabolism, cancer stem cells, cancer genomics, and molecular imaging/guided therapies. Click here to learn more.
Funding will also benefit other innovative programs at PMH, such as immunotherapy, the GTx surgical program, and the new drug development program. Programs such as these offer the latest and most novel treatment options to cancer patients. Click here to learn about the many “medical firsts” that took place at PMH.
While more people than ever before are surviving cancer, there is still more work ahead. Your fundraising efforts will facilitate new discoveries at PMH and the translation of these discoveries into improved patient outcomes for people in your community, across Canada and around the world.
